The 991 Turbo S really appears to be the holy grail of the Porsche GT Supercar family. No other 911 seems to blend the lines between supercar status and GT comfort as well as the 991 Turbo package. With the suspension, drivetrain, interior build quality, and the exterior aesthetic quality, we think it’s one of the best total packages on the market today.

For most the standard 991 would be more than enough to keep them happy however, if you’re the kind of person who feels the need for a 991 Turbo, or then the 991 Turbo S, there’s a good chance you’re going to want to play with it. Luckily for this 911, we get to go a bit deeper than that!
This Porsche is receiving the IPD newly released High Flow Y- Pipe as well as AWE Tuning's S-flo Carbon Fiber Intake. The Turbo S has been in for some maintenance work previously but now it’s time to remove some restrictions in the intake tract.

IPD invested countless hours of R & D with a variety of unique design features and multiple prototype tests before settling on an optimum design that significantly improves engine performance for both stock and highly modified 991 Turbos. Our innovative Y-Pipe design is not only larger but also utilizes "non-round" runners, an optimized merge collector area and our proven dimpled interior surfacing. This superior design delivers greater volume of air, improved laminar flow and increased air velocity. These improvements deliver an additional 35+ wheel HP, 40+ Foot Pounds of Torque, improved boost response and more linear power and torque curves.
IPD Y Pipe Installed:
As we all know, bigger is not always better when it comes to forced induction applications. The IPD Y-Pipe is considerably larger than the factory but not so large as to cause pressure drop within the intake tract resulting in turbo lag and reduced performance. This optimized "no-round" design with dimpled interior surface cannot be achieved with conventional round tube construction.
AWE CARBON S – Flo intake and IPD Y-Pipe Installed
Fitment is guaranteed, airbox geometry is 3D scanned and optimized, and mating to the factory air inlet pipes is perfect. The 100% carbon fiber AWE Tuning Porsche 991 Turbo and Turbo S S-FLO Carbon Intake is crafted from high grade 2x2 carbon fiber and boasts UV stabilized clear coat to prevent yellowing from under hood heat.
The smooth carbon fiber tubes inside the 100% enclosed air box provide a less restrictive path to the factory inlet pipes - in other words, when combined with the S-FLO Filter, we’re talking 22 hp and 22 ft-lbs of torque at the crank.
The dual S-FLO Filters were specifically designed to maximize airflow in the AWE Tuning S-FLO Carbon Intake. The cleverly engineered S-FLO Filters increase surface area, resulting in increased air flow to deliver the coolest possible air to your engine. Intake noises are also augmented, a subtle reminder of the engineering tucked beneath the carbon shell.
The customer reported noticable gains in spool-up and low-mid range power delivery. He also commented that the intake box increased turbo intake noise, which is something he was looking for from these upgrades. The next round of upgrades for this 991 Turbo S will include intercoolers, exhaust system, and ECU Tune.
