As car enthusiasts, driving enthusiasts, and overall gear heads there is nothing that makes our Team happier than seeing someone modify their car for track use. Yes, most of the cars we are driving were made to be driven on the street, but with a few specific modifications it can make a world of difference to the performance on track.
Our customer's E92 M3 Track Prep is a perfect example of how sometimes less is more.
He had decided to make subtle, thought out changes, measure the improvement, then drive, rinse and repeat...
In the quest for more grip comes an unexpected consequence; the search for more lateral support. It seems obvious but once you really start to make full use of the grip available you start to realize the limitations of the factory seat.

GMG Racing BMW M3 E92 Roll Bar Installation.
Beyond the loss of control from having to hold yourself upright while cornering, the added benefit of installing racing seats and harness is that in the event of a major impact of some kind they will not move at all when mounted properly.

The added rigidity of the seats in combination with the pre-fabricated roll bar was a sure fire way to give confidence to the wheelman. One of the best parts about track driving is the removed fear of oncoming traffic, cops, or debris… When you couple this with the feeling of safety behind the wheel it’s much easier for advanced drivers to comfortably play with the car on the limit, something we all enjoy doing!

RSW Touches aver evident in the M3 Track Prep.
After installing the interior and finishing up with an aftermarket harness from Sparco we moved onto the suspension. The car was already equipped with Ohlins coil overs, but the owner had decided to swap out the current springs for a firmer spring rate.
After all these modifications the weekend after the customer took the car to NJMP. Apparently the change in spring rate coupled with the seats gave him the extra bit of confidence to push the car into the corners. The only issue is now we have found a new area that needs improvement, the brakes.
We are so much more than just a retailer, we exist to help you get your BMW M3 Track Prep completed in a timely manner.
